4th gen iPhone might just shoot HD video

It’s already known that the (soon to be released) Sprint EVO 4G will shoot video in HD, and if rumors are true, the next version of the iPhone will be capable of that too.

Developers with access to early versions of the new OS have found code that will allow it to record video at 1280 x 720 pixels (720p).  In other words, you’ll be able to shoot hi-def video, then show it on a large screen HD TV with 720p resolution!  I imagine we’ll see many other devices capable of HD recording in the near future, but in the meanwhile, these two devices are setting the pace.

Screen images are mock-ups...

It’s also worth noting that the new iPhone will allegedly sport a 5MP camera on the back, whereas the EVO 4G has an 8MP camera…
