If the leak is true, the Sprint EVO 4G might be available June 6.
According to a source at Radio Shack, the launch is going to come early next month.
The EVO 4G has attracted a lot of attention, and includes a large, high-resolution 4.3″ touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, 4G data capability and the latest version of Google’s Android OS.
Word has it the EVO 4G will be available on or around June 6, which jives with an earlier report from a leak from a source at Best Buy who said Sprint plans to launch the EVO 4G on June 6 or June 13. There have also been reports that both Radio Shack and best Buy will begin offering pre-sale for the device later this month, so a June 6 (or 13) date sounds viable.
The Radio Shack employee also said that the price will be $200 with a new or renewed service contract, or $600 without one.
One thing is for sure: Sprint needs to get this out ASAP before Apple announces the next iPhone (likely June 22), or the EVO will get buried beneath a barrage of news on that device…
