TIP: Android owners using HTC Sense – Save Your Customized Scene!
If you have an Android device (such as the EVO 4G, Droid Incredible, Hero, Eris, etc) that uses HTC Sense, you likely are aware of the Scenes feature (found on the Home screen, by pressing Menu, then Scenes). For those unfamiliar with it, there are Scenes such as Social, Work, Play, Travel, etc. Each Scene contains a different layout of widgets & shortcuts, so you can change the look of your Home screen to suit your needs as desired. It’s really quite convenient, and you can tweak any of those Scenes as well as create ones from scratch.
Therein lies the tip: make sure you save your Scene when you customize it! A fellow EVO user spent a fair amount of time adding/changing/moving widgets & shortcuts to his default screen, but had not saved the Scene. He handed the device to a friend to check out, and they innocently began playing around with the device. They went to the Scenes settings and chose another one of the available Scenes. When they handed it back, he was shocked to find his Home screen “messed up”! Back to the drawing board, re-situating the entire thing!
Just remember, if you even add or edit one thing to a Scene and you’d like to avert a lot of rework, take a moment to save it again!
