Eric is back! NOAA stream available again for Louisville area

You might be wondering what NOAA weather radio has to do with someone named Eric, but if you’re a geeky weather weenie like me, you’d know that the online stream for (the Louisville, KY feed of) NOAA weather radio is http://audioplayer.wunderground.com/ericisback/Louisville.mp3.m3u

I have had NOAA set to play on my devices for years – dating back to Pocket PC days.  Currently I use Scanner Radio Pro for the stream on my HTC EVO.  It’s very handy to tune in to NOAA during storm warnings, etc.

About a month ago, during one of our winter storms, I attempted to tune in, and found that the feed was not working.  Fellow local weather geek Jim Dantin reached out to Eric, the host of the weather stream, and learned that his server had crashed & died. Gone was the stream…  As we have had several winter storm warnings, I missed the stream more and more with each weather event!

Today, Jim passed the good word that Eric purchased a new server, and Louisville weather radio is back online!  Just like it (prophetically) says in the weather stream URL, Eric is back!  Indeed he is!  Thanks Eric!
