Just in time for Derby, Verizon Wireless has launched a 4G cell site covering the Churchill Downs area of Louisville.

The 4G signal will be picked up throughout Churchill Downs, on the University of Louisville campus, at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium and the Fairgrounds.  Here are the geographic parameters:

From the west, Algonquin Parkway heading east to Preston Highway; and from the north, Oak Street heading south to the Watterson Expressway.

Keep in mind, the 4G site launched for Thunder is still active, and covers the immediate downtown area and Waterfront Park.
